Officials broke ground this morning on a domestic-violence shelter in downtown Phoenix. The Chrysalis Women's Shelter costs $3.1 million and will expand services to children and women who are victims of domestic violence. Maricopa County Sherriff's officials say crews were called to the scene near Indian School and El Mirage roads about 5:30 p.m. The victim was shot in the abdomen. The extent of his injuries is unclear...A Tucson man was shot and killed while trying to break up a fight at a bar yesterday. Police say 26-year-old Matthew Vital was trying to stop a brawl between two women, when another man shot him in the head. Police are investigating gang involvement because of the victim's ties to local gangs.
