A Mesa man was killed Saturday when 500 pounds of palm fronds fell and trapped him. The 28-year-old man was trimming a palm tree when the accident occurred, and by the time rescue crews arrived, he had suffocated. A hiker and a firefighter are recovering after an intensive rescue on Camelback Mountain on Sunday afternoon. The hiker had fallen 20 feet while descending the mountain, and a firefighter became dehydrated during the rescue, which took several hours. The hiker and the firefighter were both treated at a hospital and are expected to recover...Dozens of people fled the scene of a Phoenix home after police broke up a house party Saturday night. Police say everybody ran when officers arrived at the house near 51st Avenue and Thomas Road, but it's unclear if any arrests were made. Police believe the revelers were part of a "party crew" that uses text messages to recruit new partygoers and find party houses...The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee has named Winnie Stolper as executive director.
