Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is on the scene as his boys in beige raid a Valley bread company in search of illegal immigrants, the MCSO announced this morning.
According to the MCSO, Arpaio's boys got word that 31 employees at Mesa's Alpine Bread Factory near 300 West Southern Avenue were using fake identification to obtain jobs.
The raid comes less than 24 hours after Arpaio bragged about how "intelligence sources" tell him drug-and-human smugglers were steering clear of Maricopa County to avoid America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff."
That same day, 10 illegal immigrants en-route to California and North Carolina were arrested in the north Valley.
Additionally, a ton of marijuana was recently found after drug smugglers apparently left their load while fleeing authorities.
Last month, the MCSO conducted a similar immigrant roundup at the Old
Spaghetti Factory in Phoenix. Arpaio claimed the raid was an "employer
sanctions" operation, although, no "employers" were actually arrested -- just employees.
Nailing illegal immigrants working thankless jobs is the sheriff's bread
and butter, so we're certain we'll get all the details in a press
release from the MCSO later today. Check back for updates.
