It may have poured in the Valley yesterday but coming off of a 30-17 win against Brett Favre and the then 11-1 Vikings, it was nothing but sunshine for Arizona Cardinals fans.

The big win put the Cards back on the NFC radar and it was announced today that Cards quarterback Kurt Warner's performance earned him the honor of NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

In case you missed the game, the honor is well deserved.

After missing a game due to a concussion he suffered two weeks ago against the St. Louis Rams, Warner was questionable about whether he would even start Sunday.

Thankfully, father time was OK to play and threw for 285 yards, three touchdowns, and had a passer rating of over 120.0 for his fourth consecutive game. Most importantly -- he beat Brett "I don't know if I want to retire" Favre, which is apparently all the Cards needed to do to get a little love from the national media.

This is the second time this season Warner received the honor and is the first time a Cardinal has been named player of the week twice in one season since 1996, when Boomer Esiason did it.
