Here is your guide to today's spring training games, as well as a look at some of yesterday's games that most Valley baseball fans actually care about (sorry, Royals fans, there's nothin' here for you unless your boys happen to play against the Diamondbacks, the Dodgers, or the Cubs):
Arizona Diamondbacks: The Diamondbacks got shelled by the San Diego Padres 11-3 yesterday. D-backs starter Kevin Mulvey, fighting for the fifth spot in the team's regular-season rotation, gave up eight runs on six hits in two innings. Ouch.
Chicago Cubs: The Cubbies put a hurtin' on the Cincinnati Reds yesterday, winning 8-1. Cubs starter Randy Wells went 5 2/3 innings against the Reds and only allowed one run. The bullpen didn't give up a run in 3 1/3 innings, and Lou Piniella's thrilled. Check out Lou's synopsis here.
Los Angeles Dodgers: The Dodgers beat the crap out of the Cleveland Indians 11-3 yesterday. Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsly went five strong innings against the Tribe, and Andre Ethier hit a two-run shot to propel the Dodgers to a win.
