Tempe police are looking for a 22-year-old Arizona State University student missing since boarding a westbound light-rail train last week.
Daniel Heidinger, an economics student at ASU, was reported missing after leaving his home near Mill Avenue in Tempe on April 21 about 5 p.m.
Surveillance footage shows Heidinger boarding a light-rail train heading toward Phoenix about 6 p.m..
Tempe police Sergeant Steve Carbajal tells New Times there was no sign of a struggle at Heidinger's home and that no foul play is suspected in his disappearance, but his family is trying to locate him.
"At this point we're trying to conduct a welfare check," Carbajal says. "The thing is, though, people can just leave."
Carbajal says police have few leads and, at the moment, there is nothing to indicate that Heidinger had a reason to run away.
Heidinger is described as 5-foot-11, 155 pounds, sandy/light brown hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt and light-colored shorts.
Anyone with information into his disappearance is asked to call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.
