Hey, Chandler parents, it's time to freak out...

Yesterday morning, a kid was nearly abducted in Chandler -- and two others were nearly scooped up by a couple of creeps last night, which has caused the Chandler Police Department to increase neighborhood patrols.

Chandler Detective Seth Tyler says it's unclear if the two incidents involved the same suspect. However, the two near-abductions are remarkably similar.

The first happened about 8:00 a.m. when a 13-year-old girl was walking to school on Hartford Street just south of Shannon Street in Chandler, where a man got out of his vehicle and approached her.

The girl told police the suspect grabbed her by the hair and tried to drag her back to his car. Fortunately, she was able to free herself and run home.

The suspect in that case is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s. He's about 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, with short dark hair and a light mustache or goatee. He was last seen wearing a short sleeve black shirt, black pants and black work boots.

The suspect was seen fleeing the scene in an older model brown sedan with tinted windows.

The second near-abduction happened about 13 hours later, about 9:20 p.m., when a 14-year-old was walking home from a church event with his 11-year-old sister.

The two kids were near Dobson Road and Galveston Drive when they when a car approached them with its lights off. The car: you guessed it, a brown-ish sedan with tinted windows.

When the car approached the kids, a man -- described as a tall, thin Hispanic man in his 20s -- got out of the passenger side, at which point the kids took off running. The driver of the vehicle is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s with a mustache.

Tyler says the two incidents have caused the Chandler Police Department to step up neighborhood patrols.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130.
