Arizona Breakfast Weekend will debut in restaurants across the Valley from Thursday through Sunday. Participating eateries, including Kale & Clover, Barrio Urbano, and Perk Eatery, will offer special breakfast and brunch dishes priced at $7, $15, or $25. The event is organized by the Arizona Restaurant Association and sponsored by Hickman's Family Farms. "Taste of James Beard" Dinner at Talavera

Executive chef Mel Mecinas of Talavera at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale will bring the six-course menu he presented earlier this month at the James Beard House in New York to Valley diners on Friday. For $110 (plus an additional cost for wine pairings), guests can sample Mecinas' dishes, including braised rabbit with truffled polenta gnocchi, chanterelle, and chorizo, and pancetta-wrapped buffalo tenderloin with Press coffee rub, squash blossoms, vegetables, and mole sauce. The menu will be offered from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 480-513-5085 or by visiting Talavera online
2015 Burger Daze at Liberty Market
Starting Saturday, August 1

All-American eaters can head to Liberty Market in Gilbert during the month of August to participate in the 2015 Burger Daze challenge. Diners are invited to eat each of Liberty Market's 31 inventive burgers, save their receipts, and claim a prize at the conclusion of the month. Some of the burgers that will be offered include the Pad Thai Burger, Shepherd's Pie Burger, and Portobello Burger.
