From 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, December 15 and 16, at the US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix, lovers of the Mexican agave-based liquor will be treated to all-day samplings of food and drink, as well as live entertainment (planned or otherwise) at the 4th Annual Phoenix Tequila Fest.

Here's what's eventgoers can expect at this year's tequila get-together.

Like past festivals, expect tequila, and lots of it. Over 100 different tequila varietals will be available from major labels to boutique distilleries. And they're the real deal, too: 100 percent Blue Agave and grown in Jalisco, the tequila-making region of Mexico. Tequila enthusiasts can sip samples of añejos, reposados, and blancos as well as organics, infusions, and flavored tequilas -- as much as they'd like -- during the event.

Plus, there's hand-crafted margaritas and complimentary Mexican eats from places like America's Taco Shop, Los Reyes de la Torta, and Sandbar Mexican Grill.

In addition to live music and strolling mariachi bands, this year's event will feature entertainment such as a margarita challenge (last year's honors went to Richie Moe of Citizen Public House in Scottsdale) and a jalapeño, serrano, and habanero chili pepper eating contest,
