Chow Bella and Changing Hands Bookstore are proud to present the next Chow Bella Book Club (an online book club for people who love food, books and books about food) selection.

For the month of November, we'll be reading A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from My Kitchen Table by Molly Wizenberg. We wanted a sweet and warm memoir with recipes for this month and I think I've found the perfect one.

Published by Simon & Schuster in March 2009, A Homemade Life is part memoir, part recipe book that we thought we be perfect for November since we'll have food on the brain all month and creating our own food memories with our friends and families this Thanksgiving.

Here's how the publisher describes Wizenberg's book:

In A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from My Kitchen Table, Molly Wizenberg recounts a life with the kitchen at its center. From her mother's pound cake, a staple of summer picnics during her childhood in Oklahoma, to the eggs she cooked for her father during the weeks before his death, food and memories are intimately entwined. You won't be able to decide whether to curl up and sink into the story or to head straight to the market to fill your basket with ingredients for Cider-Glazed Salmon and Pistachio Cake with Honeyed Apricots.

Dorie Greenspan, author of Baking: From My Home to Yours, says that "Molly Wizenberg writes like an angel -- cooks like one, too. Her lyrical stories of a life shaped by family and food, deep love and great loss, not only touch us, they inspire us to take joy in our own homemade lives."

With 50 recipes and the engaging stories surrounding their importance to Wizenberg, there is sure to be a recipe or two that you will take and with them, make your own experiences. Wizenberg continues to share her stories on her mega-popular blog Orangette (that London Times named number one food blog in the world and receives more than 9,500 hits per day) and her podcast Spilled Milk.

I hope you're as excited to read and share thoughts on A Homemade Life as I am. If you haven't read it already, and need a copy of the book, just jump over to Changing Hands Bookstore where they've generously offered 20% to all Chow Bella Book Club readers.

We will be posting a review and hosting our online discussion "book club meeting" online December 6th at 7 p.m. - we would love to see you there!
