It's been almost two years since The Upton opened its doors in Old Town Scottsdale, taking over the former home of the well-loved French eatery Petite Maison. But it seems the restaurant's knack for putting out "playful and delicious" New American cuisine wasn't enough because as of Sunday, July 3, The Upton has shuttered.

The restaurant, which was located at 7216 East Shoeman Lane, opened in November 2014, just two weeks after well-known local chef James Porter and his wife, Wendy, sold the then five-year-old Petite Maison to new owners. The new owners then quickly transformed the spot into a trendy, vibrant, and more casual eatery, debuting the new restaurant under the leadership of chef Chris Schlattman, the former Petite Maison sous chef.
