Like beer? This Saturday, April 28, Margaret T. Hance Park will host the eighth annual AmeriCAN Craft Beer Festival. There will be more than 100 breweries in all. They will come from 40 states. More than 250 beers, all canned, await your tongue, taste buds, and brain. Some of these beers haven't crossed into Arizona until now.

That alone would be enough to lure a warm-blooded drinking person out. But the event organizers pushed on, slating activities like live music and a beer olympics.

The event costs $35, $45 at the door. Admission gets knocked down to $20 for designated drivers, which feels pretty high for people who are doing a good thing and, in a way, helping the event run. If you don't want to drive, grab the light rail or take Lyft (one of the event partners).

Arizona breweries participating in the event include standouts like Arizona Wilderness Brewing and Puebla Vida Brewing (Tucson). The lineup of breweries from outside Arizona includes some nationally known breweries, like Stone and Sierra Nevada, as well as more regional favorites, like Victory (Philly), Modern Times (San Diego), Cigar City (Tampa Bay), and 21st Amendment (San Francisco).

Tickets net you entry, 20 beer samples, and a souvenir four-ounce can.

The event starts at 3 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m.
