While some among us are undoubtedly looking forward to the hours we'll be spending in and around the kitchen area in preparation for the holidays, not all of us relish in the effort. To help ease the pain and suffering, local eatery Astor House will be host a Pre-Turkey Party with tapas, drinks and best of all, no cooking required.

Described as the "yin to your Thanksgiving yang," the party will include Iberian peninsula-themed food and drinks in a social atmosphere meant to counteract the hours we'll be spending with our guts shoved up against the dining room table. Small plates will include skewed cheese, Spanish bocadillos and grilled shrimp and sausages.

To wash it all down -- while in keeping with the theme -- Astor House will be serving wines of the region such as sparkling cava, rioja tempranillo and a Portuguese blend.

The party begins at 5:00 on Wednesday, November 21. $12 for tapas style dinner and $9 for a cava toast and a glass of wine. For more information visit the Astor House Facebook page.
