Like a pie in the face, it hit us.

It's time to start planning the Second Annual Pie Social, brought to you by Roosevelt Row and Chow Bella.

We had such a good time at last year's pie tasting event -- featuring the culinary masterpieces of celebrity chefs and community members alike -- that we're back to do it again: Saturday, November 12, on Roosevelt Row.

Mark your calendars, dust off your cook books. And if you'd like to participate in the profressional chef tasting, get the details after the jump.

To participate in our "celebrity chef" contest and tasting, your pies must be prepared in a professional kitchen. You will need to bring at least 10 pies, along with someone (like you) with a food handler's license to serve. Some ingredients are not allowed, per county health department rules, and we'll get those details to you (along with the rest of the county's rules) if you sign up to participate.

Community bakers do not need to sign up in advance; you simply need to bring two pies to the event, and in exchange will receive 5 tasting tickets.

If you would like to participate as a "celebrity chef," please email Amy Silverman at [email protected] no later than August 26 to secure your spot. Questions? Fire away!
