Beyond the usual suspects for happy hour is a holy grail of a deal that we like to call the "Bottle and Board" special. While some iterations of the bottle and board deal are literal — a board of bruschetta paired with a bottle of wine — others are more liberal in execution. Some of our deals below include foods like cheesy tater tots, nachos, lasagna, or mussels and chorizo.

The one item these deals have in common, however, is the offer of a bottle of wine paired with delicious food, the perfect serving size for sharing.

From North Phoenix to Uptown to Arcadia, here are the nine best food and wine deals around metro Phoenix.

Postino

Postino offers one of the best-known bottle-and-board deals in town. On Monday and Tuesday nights after 8, guests can choose any house bottle of wine and a bruschetta board for only $20. Bruschettas such as the tomato jam and fresh sheep's milk cheese or prosciutto with figs and mascarpone can be paired with wines including Holly's Way, a California Chardonnay, or Perfekt, a German Riesling. With four locations across the Valley, there are plenty of places locals can enjoy $20 Mondays and Tuesdays at Postino. We recommend getting there early — the wait for a table can sometimes be incredibly long.

The Vig Uptown & The Vig Fillmore

The Vig has been a fixture in the local happy hour and late-night dining scenes for a while now, but did you know the mini-chain of restaurants also has a board-and-bottle deal? The Vig locations in Uptown and on Fillmore offer Two for Twenty-Two Tuesdays — or Catch 22, as The Vig Uptown calls it —- all day long. Guests can choose an appetizer and a bottle of wine for $22, with selections including cheesy tater tots; artichoke, kale, and roasted jalapeño dip; and bacon-wrapped dates. The Vig's long wine list includes foreign and domestic varietals, so guests can find a perfect pairing for just about any app.

St. Francis

Central Phoenix's St. Francis only recently introduced its Tuesday bottle and board deal to guests, which takes place each Tuesday from 7 p.m. to close. The deal lets St. Francis' guests choose from select bottles of wine and an appetizer for $20. Wine selections change weekly, but have included Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Rose varietals. Select appetizers, which will also rotate, include St. Francis' mussles and chorizo, cheese flatbread, and savory baked goat cheese.

Barrio Urbano

Barrio Urbano, located in the Yard on 7th Street, offers some flair to this otherwise Italian-heavy bottle and board list. For $20 on Wednesday, guests can choose an appetizer and select beverage, including a bottle of house red or white wine. Appetizers include chef Silvana Salcido Esparza's guacamole, mula de asada, chile verde fries, or the gringa quesadilla. The deal is available all day.

Yacht Club

All day, everyday diners at Yacht Club in Arcadia can cash in on a deal for oysters and rosé. For $25, Yacht Club offers a bottle of rosé and a half-dozen freshly shucked oysters. On their own, Yacht Club's oysters are sold at market price, so the wine-pairing prices are nearly impossible to beat. For additional details, visit Yacht Club online, or call 602-368-2088.

32 Shea

This North Phoenix patio eatery boasts its own bottle-and-board deal. On Tuesdays, 32 Shea offers a board of bruschetta and bottle of wine for $20. Unlike at other places, there's a limit of one special per table of four people, but we still enjoy getting to choose from bruschettas such as the tomato, garlic, and basil, or the Gorgonzola and fig.

North Italia

Fox Restaurant Concept's upscale Italian farmhouse eatery, North, has one of the most consistently available bottle and board deals in town. During happy hour, which occurs between 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and all day Sunday, North offers several great combos for diners to choose from. Guests can select a pizza (margherita or daily special), bruschetta (prosciutto, tomato, or goat cheese), or chef's board (meat, cheese, and other goodies), and a bottle of house red or white wine for only $20.

Timo Wine Bar

Timo Wine Bar, in the Sunnyslope neighborhood, offers two nights of bottle-and-board deals. For $22 on Sunday night from 5:30 to 9 p.m, Timo offers a baked lasagna for sharing and a bottle of select Italian wine, including the including the Il Donato red blend, Renzo Chianti, and others. Alternately, on Monday night guests can choose any applewood oven pizza, such as the beef short rib pizza, made with ribs, sweet potato, provolone, banana peppers, truffle oil, and green onions, and pair it to a bottle of wine including California Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir, for only $19.

The Market by Jennifer's

Rounding out our bottle and board list is The Market by Jennifer's Nosh Wednesday deal. Each Wednesday from 6 p.m. to close, guests can choose a bottle of house red or white wine, and pair it with a meat and cheese nosh board for only $20. The Market by Jennifer's stocks up on cheese and charcuterie from local cheese mongers and other purveyors, which means you'll be getting some of delicious items on your weekly board.
