Usually, our Sunday routine involves some variation of waking up with a mild hangover and rolling out of bed to seek out greasy or starchy food -- preferably in a location with lots of natural sunlight and more booze. This is the whole point of brunch.
But for those of you with more productive Sunday aspirations, here's something you might appreciate: a social running club that meets on Sunday mornings for a run followed by brunch. It's called bRUNch Running, and it will return to Phoenix in September for a second season.

The idea is that every week from September to mid-October, the running group will meet at a different metro Phoenix restaurant. Participants will have the choice to partake in either a 5K or 10K run, which will conclude at the restaurant. Afterward, everyone gets to enjoy food and a couple of drinks.
Phoenix's bRUNch Running series kicks off Sunday, September 7, with an event at OHSO Eatery + nanoBrewery. Check in will start at 9:15 a.m. and the run will start at 9:30 a.m. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome to join and tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. The cost of the ticket covers the run, an entrée, and two drinks.
More events will be held at the following restaurants:
- True Food Kitchen Scottsdale Quarter (Sun., September 14)
- ChopShop Tempe (Sun., September 21)
- House Brassiere (Sun., September 28)
- OHSO Distillery (Sun., October 5 )
- SanTan Brewing Company (Sun., October 12)
Space is limited and tickets can be purchased on the bRUNch Running website.
