Cuttlefish in Scottsdale Has Closed, Now a Brunch Spot Called the Hash Kitchen

It's been less than two years since restaurateur Joey Maggiore, son of restaurateur Tomaso Maggiore, opened Cuttlefish Ocean Kitchen at The Shops at Gainey Village in Scottsdale.

But earlier this month, Maggiore shuttered the upscale seafood-centric restaurant and changed the space into a casual brunch spot called The Hash Kitchen.

The new restaurant, located at 8777 North Scottsdale Road, is adjacent to Maggiore's other restaurant, Hogs N' Hops BBQ. That dining spot opened about three months ago in the space that housed Maggiore's short-lived Notorious Burgers. 

The Hash Kitchen's main draw will be a DIY Bloody Mary bar that's stocked with more than "50 premium toppings from mini cheeseburger sliders, egg rolls, beer-battered onion rings to king crab." The bar will also give drinkers the option to choose among various in-house infused vodkas. Think bacon and jalapeño. 

In addition to the build-your-own Bloodys, there will be a morning cocktail menu that includes six kinds of mimosas. The food menu includes "specialty hashes and eggs Benedict, build-your-own hash (BYOH), frittatas, or scramble options, and an eclectic mix of decadent sweets like coconut and almond encrusted French toast." 

Maggiore and his wife, Christina, who designed the restaurant, co-created Maggiore Culinary Concepts, the company behind local spots including Tomaso’s, Tommy V’s Urban Kitchenand Bar, Vivo! Ristorante, and Hogs N’ Hops BBQ. Maggiore's father, Tomaso, opened the first restaurant, Tomaso’s in 1977.  

The Hash Kitchen officially opened on Saturday, July 18, but will host a grand opening on Saturday, August 1. For more information, visit The Hash Kitchen website.
