What We Bought: Going to Dulceria Arcoiris might be a little intimidating at first, but once inside, it's pretty much like stumbling into a warehouse version of an ice cream truck. Mexican candies, paletas, bomb pops, push pops, and a lot more are all available to you at wholesale prices. One of our favorite finds were the Frutas Frescas paletas in a multitude of unique and classic flavors all in boxes of 12 for only $4.99. Coconut cream, cucumber, guava, arroz con leche, and tamarind are just some of the many flavors offered at less than a dollar per pop.
What We Skipped: While we did skip over some of the more typical ice cream truck fare, like the Blue Bunny and even Shamrock Farms offerings, they were still offered at insanely cheap prices. If you have a kid's birthday party to throw this summer, they definitely would be a great option. We also, though tempted, passed on the huge gallon jugs of sno-cone syrup for $5.99. Our final skip of the day went dubiously to the weird cap gun/Pez dispenser hybrid carrying what we could only assume to be icky candy.
What We're Still Lusting Over: We definitely plan on making many trips to Dulceria Arcoiris anytime we run out of paletas in our freezer from now on. Maybe next time we do, we'll grab the chile watermelon and chile apple lollipops that caught our attention at $5.99 for a bag of 40. Another thing we passed up that's still on our minds is a box of 24 packs of candy cigarettes with kitschy vintage packaging for only $3.25. It's not a great example-setting treat and they don't taste good at all, but we still love them nonetheless. Oh nostalgia . . .
