What'd you eat for dinner last night? Shrimp ceviche from La Grade Orange--it is mind-warping tasty.
Favorite food: Cottage cheese. Up until a few years ago, the stuff completely freaked me out. Then, all of a sudden, it became a staple in my fridge.
Least favorite food: A reuben sandwich. There is something about the compounding of rye, thousand island, and sourkraut that alarms me greatly.
Favorite dessert: All?
Favorite local restaurant and meal to order there: It may strike you as silly because I work there, but La Grande Orange is one of my favorite local chow lines. Try the Padre pizza: cheese blend, ricotta cheese, mission figs, and proscuitto di san danielle--it's off-menu and a little strange, but I guarantee you'll find it delicious.
Favorite local bar and cocktail to order there: Casey Moore's! I see (employees) Steve, Mike, Dave, and Jimmy more often than I see my own family. You can find me trying not to sweat my face off drinking a Jameson neat and a Black Velvet (cider and Guinness, not to be confused with the choke-inducing Canadian whiskey).
Favorite thing to cook at home: Assorted bell peppers--I marinate them in olive oil, lemon juice, lemon pepper and a little bit of garlic salt then throw em' on the grill. Healthy and refreshing.
Favorite memory involving food: My Ma making me my standard birthday dinner: teriyaki flank steak, asparagus, and double cheesy mashed potatoes. I'm not entirely sure what she does to the latter, but it is safe to say that I end up licking the Pyrex clean.
Recipe or food tip to share: Try adding sour cream to your scrambled eggs to make them extra fluffy. For more excellent cooking tips, watch all six seasons of The Sopranos.
