Tis the season for eggs -- boiling them, decorating them, and baking them into breads. After being on Pinterest for so long I feel like nothing can surprise me, but then I come across something like this and I'm once again feeling like a six year old.

These eggs are a nice stray from the normal hard boiled egg, especially for those who are soon to celebrate the practice of hiding them for little ones to find. Perhaps make one or two of these for an extra special treat for the person that finds them? Or simply make them because because you find the yolk in conventional boiled eggs totally disgusting.
The eggs are fairly simple to make, thanks to a very detailed tutorial on Intructables. Aside from water and a pot for boiling them, you need only two things: an egg and a pair of stockings.
The author on Instructables explains that the stockings need to have a relatively low degree of stretch for this to work. I found this to be very true. I had only one pair that I was willing to give up for this, and they worked really well for the first egg. After that though, they were overly stretched, I think, because I couldn't get it to work again.
So you're gonna need a few pairs of stockings if you're going to make a bunch. Place the egg into the center of one of the legs of the stockings (I cut the leg off) and twist each end about 25 times, then let it spin back into the original position. Repeat this about 10 more times. Here's a YouTube video on how to do this.
To check if it's been properly scrambled, place the eggs over a flashlight in a dark room. If it has a tinge of red, then it's scrambled. If it's really bright, then keep trying. I found this to be a bit tricky. Twice I thought the eggs were scrambled when they were not.
The only downside is that they're very difficult to peel when they're finished cooking. To avoid this, try boiling them with a teaspoon of baking soda.
Finally, they taste very different from standard boiled eggs, but not quite like the scrambled eggs we're accustomed to. Try it!
