Halloweek is upon us, and in the days leading up to the holiday, there are plenty of ways to taste the spooky season. Try unique pairings, like cheese and candy or wine and tarot card readings. Celebrate with your costume at an interactive "Rocky Horror Picture Show" dinner or "Bob's Burger"-style takeover of Worth Takeaway. No matter what you do this year, skip the tricks and taste the treats at these 10 food and drinks events happening around metro Phoenix for Halloween.

Halloween tea celebrating Neil Gaiman

Drink Me Tea Room will transport afternoon tea guests to the eerie, elegant world of author Neil Gaiman, whose works include “Coraline.” The tea will include savory and sweet delights that play off of Gaiman’s fantastical characters and stories. The tea room will also offer tea-infused cocktails and mocktails. Reservations may be made through Tock.

Unusual pairing: Halloween candy and cheese

Shea Cheese will take guests on a journey of surprising pairings of cheese and Halloween candy favorites. Duos include creamy brie with caramel-filled chocolates and tangy blue cheese with peanut butter cups, among others that will tease one’s tastebuds. Four Peaks pumpkin carving contest

Enjoy a personal pitcher of Four Peaks Brewing Co.’s Pumpkin Porter and a slice of Pumpkin Porter Cheesecake at the brewer’s jack-o-lantern contest. Entrants can carve their pumpkin at home or at the brewery, but must supply their own carving tools and candles. Entry is $20, and prizes will be given for the best Four Peaks-themed pumpkin.

Tarot Uncorked: A mystical wine tasting experience

Uptown wine and beer bar The Joy Lush Club will host an evening of wine tastings and tarot card readings. Each ticket includes a reading of three cards, a “spooky” wine tasting and light bites. Guests are also eligible for a drawing for a free tarot card reader training on-demand program with Elevate Yoga and Wellness. Tickets are $30 and may be reserved on Eventbrite.

Love of Art & Cocktails: Halloween Edition

Pigtails Desert Ridge will host a spooky night with local artist Cinque Smith. The cocktail bar will pair drinks and music with his style of his art, including a live painting. Smith will likewise be debuting new work. Tickets are $35 and include two cocktails, small bites and a raffle ticket to win one of Smith’s pieces.

Immerse yourself in the cult classic film over a four-course dinner at Found:RE Phoenix Hotel. Guests are encouraged to dress up and participate in the interactive elements of the show, including singing along and shouting callbacks. The dinner menu pays homage to the film’s most memorable moments, from Frank-N-Furter's extravagant creations to the treats enjoyed by Brad and Janet during their ill-fated visit. Tickets are $89 and may be purchased through Eventbrite.

Jim Bob’s Burgers Pop-Up

For two days, Worth Takeaway will again transform into Jim Bob’s Burgers – a patty palace for foodies and fans of the animated sitcom “Bob’s Burgers.” Costumes are encouraged, and the theme this year is 1980s pop culture (but “Bob’s Burgers” character costumes are likewise encouraged). The special burger menu features nine burgers and sides. Raspberry Beret includes two four-ounce patties, raspberry chipotle sauce, creamy peanut butter, bacon and white cheddar, and I Wanna Feel the Heat (With Somebody) features two patties, serrano aioli, oven-roasted jalapeno relish and white cheddar. On the side, an order of Golden Girls takes seasoned tater tots and tops them with a gouda cheese sauce, caramelized onions and a Dr. Pepper barbecue sauce. To drink, Worth Takeaway has a collaboration beer with The Shop Beer Co., ciders from neighbor Cider Corps, specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic options.

Spookfest at Lakeside Bar & Grill

9980 W. Happy Valley Parkway, Peoria
Lakeside Bar & Grill will host its 15th annual Spookfest Halloween event, featuring food and drinks specials, including all-day happy hour and free meals for kids in costume (after 4 p.m.). The event will also include a dueling pianos show featuring The Cactus Keys and an adult costume contest.

Agave Fest

Oct. 29
7228 E. First Ave., Scottsdale
Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila will host a mezcal, tequila and agave spirits tasting event with a Dia de los Muertos theme. The event will include 14 agave varietals to taste along with specialty cocktails, shopping, live music and face painting. There will be a costume contest judged by representatives from Chicaonos Por La Causa, who will be looking for the most creative, accurate and original costume. Tickets are $40, and $5 from each ticket sold will benefit Chicanos Por La Causa.

The LDV Winery Tasting Room in Old Town Scottsdale will host two Halloween-themed events. On Oct. 29, sip and paint a pumpkin. The cost is $25 and includes one glass of wine, a pumpkin and painting supplies. On Halloween, try a wine and candy flight for $15 – the pairing will be offered all day and no registration is needed.
