According to The Phoenix Business Journal, Oil & Vinegar, a "culinary gift shop" of international food and cooking products, will open its first Arizona store on Saturday, December 1, in the Scottsdale Quarter at 15279 North Scottsdale Road.

The Netherlands-based company, whose stores are franchised, offers a wide range of international food and cooking items in a Mediterranean-style atmosphere. Products include: bottled and "on tap" oils and vinegars, fondue chocolates, dried herb mixes and spices, ceramic table wares, and international cookbooks.

The focal point of the store is the "amphora wall", a selection of more than 30 international oils and vinegars suspended in glass containers on a wall. Customers can select a bottle (or bring in a previously purchased Oil & Vinegar bottle for a refill) and a staff member will dispense the selection on tap.

Gift wrapping, of course, is available.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Oil & Vinegar, which now has 90 franchises worldwide, including 15 in the United States, plans to open at least five Arizona stores in the next five years, and is scouting possible locations in Flagstaff, Yuma, and Tucson.
