Wine drinkers rejoice! Arizona celebrates its inaugural Arizona Wine Week through Nov. 6. Gov. Jan Brewer, who's been known to enjoy a few glasses of wine herself, signed a proclamation that will be read this morning at Phoenix Public Market.
We find the Brewer connection endlessly entertaining, but snarky politics aside, there are some cool events associated with wine week that you won't want to miss -- even if you're cryiing in your beer tomorrow night when Terry Goddard loses, .
Various tasting events will be held throughout the week, the details of which are still being ironed out, according to the press release we got last week; we'll update you when we know more.

Wine Week wraps up with the Arizona Wine Growers second annual Festival at the Farm, featuring two 21-plus mix-and-mingle events with more than 20 Arizona wine makers.

Snack on hors d'œuvres and sip the top-scoring wines of 2010 with the Arizona Grower's Cup and Winemaker's Medal award winners at The Celebration of the Arizona Wine Growers Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at Quiessence Restaurant.
And return to the Farm at South Mountain from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 6 to cast your vote for People's Choice (1:30 to 2:30 p.m.) compare wines in the blind-tasting Judgment of Arizona Wines (2:45 to 3:15 p.m.), eat a picnic lunch, and bid on all the wine goods up for auction! The events are $65 each or $120 together.
