Here's her perfect food day:
My husband and I like to refer to ourselves as "foodies in training" and while I don't know what it takes to finally call yourself a foodie, I would like to think that we're well on our way! My perfect day in food would go something like this...
Breakfast: In all honesty, my mom's homemade sticky buns and egg soufflé. I haven't been able to find a breakfast better than mom's and when I do I'll let you know! Her light fluffy egg dish is the perfect amount of savory (and one of the only ways I'll eat eggs) and she adds just the right amount of brown sugar and pecans to her sticky buns that make them dream-worthy. As a treat sometimes she adds cream cheese frosting and it's enough to make me go into a food coma before the rest of my day even begins!
Lunch: I can't help but want to go to Short Leash food truck every day! I first discovered their food during the Arizona Blogger Meetup in April and have been addicted ever since! We go there quite a bit but I can never convince myself to order something other than the Aiko-Mango chutney, diced jalapenos, red onions, fresh cilantro and mayo. It's so good with a spicy beer hot dog or even with their veggie dog if I feel like I need a break from meat.Snack: I'm very torn on this concept so I'll put my two favorites; Spiedini from Pizzeria Bianco - Italian Fontina wrapped in Prosciutto di Parma, served warm; or a plank of bruschetta from Postino Wine Cafe (any combination would do, they're all so good!).
Dinner: I really debated what my perfect dinner would be, but I had to go with Chelsea's Short Ribs with a side of Mac and Cheese from Chelsea's Kitchen. It's my go-to comfort food and it never fails to deliver! It's one of those dishes that makes me not want to put my fork down! Chelsea's is one of our regular spots and along with the food, the service and atmosphere make for the perfect dinner spot.
My recommendation if you only get the chance to try one or two items from my perfect day of food; eat dessert first!
