37. Lil' Amadi from Lo-Lo's Chicken and Waffles

Although Lo-Lo's has upgraded locations to the homey shack-like spot south of downtown Phoenix to a more modern and much larger spot with valet parking, the classic soul food eats are still as good as ever. While the grits, collard greens, and creamy mac and cheese are all great sides (as is a mason jar full of Kool-Aid), the reason you came to Lo-Lo's Chicken & Waffles is spelled out right in the name: the chicken and waffles.
While there's about ten different chicken and waffle combos you can pick from on the menu, if you're going all out, the Lil' Amadi will definitely satisfy. With two juicy dark meat thigh pieces of crispy fried chicken and a waffle, it's enough food to get full and still have some room to pick out one of those side dishes.
If you want to dress up your chicken and waffles right, we suggest slathering the waffle with butter, pouring syrup on the chicken and waffles, and then dousing the chicken in a generous layer of spicy, tangy Lo-Lo's hot sauce. Just don't plan to be super productive after a Lo-Lo's visit because in our experience you'll probably be in need of a nap (a.k.a. Lo-Lo coma) after.
