Maynard James Keenan Opens Wine Tasting Room in Jerome

Well, if you can play hooky -- or hold out 'til the weekend -- I already have something to add to your itinerary. It's the Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards Tasting Room, owned by winemaker Maynard James Keenan. It just opened for business last week.

World famous as the frontman of the rock band Tool, Keenan has called Jerome home for years now, and owns several vineyards. He sells wine under the Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards labels, as well as the AZ Stronghold brand, which he co-owns with winemaker Eric Glomski. (Read more about them in this feature story I wrote last fall.)

The tasting room is located at 158 Main Street in Jerome, and is open 365 days a year, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays.
