Restaurateur Bryan Chittenden is a busy man.
Last week, Chittenden, who, along with partners Greg Donnally and Andrew Nam, own Stingray Sushi, Geisha A Go-Go, Jimmy Woo's, and Spanish Fly in addition to the now-shuttered Drift, opened Big B's Hangover, a hoagie spot that took over the location of the Philadelphia Sandwich Company (which moved and re-opened in a larger space at 4225 North Craftsman Court) in Old Town.
Now Chittenden and partners are planning to open another Scottsdale business. This time, one more of the cantina ilk.
Built around a Mexican resort style pool, El Santo, a cantina, patio bar, and restaurant, will reside at 7301 East Butherus Drive, near the Scottsdale Quarter and in the former location of Jilly's American Grill.
The huge space, around 25,000 square feet, features a restaurant serving up Baja-style fare for lunch and dinner, a cantina, and an open-air patio bar. The pool portion includes private villas, VIP casitas, and a bar of its own.
El Santo is set to open at 11 a.m., Friday, May 4.
