New York deli fans looking for pickled corned beef and pastrami, matzo ball soup, and New York style bagels with lox and schmear would do best to keep their eyes peeled for the opening of Abe's of Scottsdale, the deli and restaurant opening soon in the Acacia Creek Village Shopping Center at the southwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Gold Dust Avenue.
Abe's comes courtesy of owner Larry Abel, who has operated delicatessens in New Haven, Baltimore, and San Francisco for over 35 years.
Abel says his new deli and restaurant, "belongs to a very different delicatessen era, the glamorous age of 1930s Times Square delis, when Broadway performers ducked out between shows for a pastrami on rye."
Plus, it's got a, "Kibbitz Patio."
Featuring table service as well as a deli counter, Abe's will offer daily hot sliced favorites such as housemade pickled corned beef and pastrami, matzo balls in home made chicken broth with noodles and chicken, New York black and white deli cookies, and Nova lox (Nova Scotia salmon) for bagels or on top of salads.
Abe's dining room will feature vintage cityscape photos and will also feature an, "Espresso Bar and Schmooze Lounge," free WiFi on the "Kibbitz Patio," and cater to larger family gatherings in its "Mishpacha" section.
