"The West's Most Western Town" will lose one of its most famous Western-themed destinations when the decades-old Pinnacle Peak Patio closes its doors for good.

The restaurant, which opened in 1957, began as a general store but has grown into a popular tourist destination, known for its "no necktie policy" and authentically Arizonan fare.

The McElhanon family has sold the property for $2.4 million to a developer who plans to build luxury homes, the Republic reports. The developer has no time line for the project yet. The family hopes to stay in business at the current location through 2015 and then relocate the restaurant to a new location.

Earlier this year the nearby Western-themed bar Greasewood Flat announced it would also be moving to a new location. That property, owned by the Cavalliere family, was sold last year for $8 million in probate court.
