Fans of locally owned and operated restaurant chain Pita Jungle now have a new place to get their fix of hummus, salads, and other healthy Mediterranean eats. On Monday, the 18th Pita Jungle location in Arizona opened its doors at 5505 North Seventh Street, on the northeast corner of Seventh Street and Missouri Avenue.
The new restaurant is the largest Pita Jungle yet, at nearly 5,000 square feet and with the capability to seat more than 200. Inside, diners can expect to find an Art Deco-inspired design that takes inspiration from The Great Gatsby and the 1927 film Metropolis. The space features silver, gold, and copper accents throughout, as well as custom crystal decanter lighting fixtures, large custom-made mirrors overlaid with gold and silver framing, and geometric flooring. Local artist Eric “Q” Quezada also created a large copper, silver and gold tree in the restaurant's main dining area.
Earlier this year, Pita Jungle also relocated its Tempe restaurant from the original location on Apache Boulevard to a new space on Mill Avenue. The restaurant was founded in 1994 by three college friends and has since grown to include more than a dozen locations throughout the state and one restaurant in California.
Pita Jungle Uptown will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
