For those excited about the recent flurry of fast food news-iness in the Valley such as Wendy's updated urban design, the barrage of incoming sub shop chains, and the new concept from P.F. Chang's, you just scored some extra bag fries: Popeyes Louisina Kitchen is expanding in Phoenix.

The Republic reports that the Louisiana-based Cajun-style fried chicken chain, with more than1,800 restaurants in more than 40 states and over 21 countries worldwide, plans to add nine stores to its existing nine locations in the Valley over the next five years.

And because only 30 locations are owned by Popeyes, the company is holding an "Executive Roundtable" (a.k.a. franchise seminar) from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, for those looking for a greasy piece of the action. Qualifications include a net worth of $500,000 ($250,000 liquid) and a minimum of 5 years experience in owning or operating restaurants.
