Gilbert, get ready. Tomorrow, the southeast Valley suburb will welcome a new fast-casual spot for everything from gyoza to Korean mac and cheese.

The new restaurant, Sobas, will be located inside the Crossroads Towne Center at 3757 South Gilbert Road, and opens to the public on Saturday, June 4.

Founded and co-owned by Berekk Blackwell, the counter-service spot will offer a menu of Pan-Asian fare including gyoza ($6), chicken skewers ($6), pad Thai ($7), and six different type of bao. Their menu also will include Asian-inspired salads such as Sobas’ Thai cobb ($9) or wasabi caesar ($8) — and a few decidedly non-traditional items including Sriracha alfredo ($11) made with fettuccini noodles, spicy Sriracha alfredo sauce, broccoli, and bell pepper, and Korean Mac and Cheese ($9), made with elbow noodles, diced kimchi, and pork belly tossed in a four-cheese sauce.

Most menu items will be priced between $6 and $12, and will be complemented with a selection of iced and blended boba (bubble) teas.

In celebration of the restaurant's opening, the first 100 diners to show up when Sobas opens at 11 a.m. will get a free Sobas bowl every month for the rest of the year. And don't worry, you don't have to be the early bird to get the worm this time. All diners who show up on Saturday, June 4, can get a free bowl to eat that day, too.

Sobas will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

For more information, check the Sobas website or Facebook page

Editor's Note: This post has been changed from its original version. Soba opens at 11 a.m., not 10 a.m. as previously noted.
