We're officially in the middle of the dead zone-- You know, that time every year where many Valley restaurants take a couple weeks or even the whole month off. That's why it's all the more important to patronize restaurants right now that are sticking it through the summer season lull just so you have somewhere to eat. If you're looking for playful, modern Asian fare with cocktails to pair, head to Clever Koi for a date night deal Monday through Wednesday evenings.

Clever Koi's "It Takes Two" dinner deal features a list of three rice dishes or five noodle dishes to choose from, including steak bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, ramen, and hot pots. Each dining duo picks two of these dishes for $30 with included sochu punch, a mix of sochu, allspice dram, passionfruit and other juices.

However, if sochu isn't you're thing, you can shell out five extra dollars and have your choice of four cocktails to split. The Bee's Knees with lavender honey and vanilla oil is light and tart, while the Bull in A China China Shop has more of a spicy kick with a sriracha cordial and hellfire bitters. Or you can skip the booze all together and tack on $10, for a total of $40, with a bottle of wine included.

The choice is really up to you, and all you need to do is find another person.
