The holidays are in full swing. While kids are dreaming of Lego sets and Bratz dolls and parents are hoping for the latest techie gadgets, foodies are dreaming of sugarplums. Or truffles. Or sushi. Or pork belly...

To get you in the holiday spirit, we created a Christmas song based around local foods we'd love to get for Christmas -- sung to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas." Could be some good gift ideas for food lovers, or places to treat your sweetie to a pre-holiday dinner.

(Try to ignore the crass way we manage to toss in extra syllables where needed. We're food lovers, not musicians.)

On the first day of Christmas, I wish my true love gave to me...

A Pot Pie from Cornish Pasty

Tempe's Cornish Pasty Company has never failed to warm the cockles of our heart, be it with pints of Guinness on tap, or their crusty pies filled with veggies, meat and all manner of deliciousness. Recently, we checked out their Chicken Pot Pie pasty, a new addition to the menu since we'd been there last.

It's rich and savory and chock full of veggies that will convert even the most die-hard veggie hater. Holiday Party Tip: You can order any of their pasties to-go and they'll give it to you half-baked with instructions to heat for 20 minutes or so when you get home. Order a few different kinds, finish cooking them in your home oven, and your friends and family will think you've slaved over a hot stove all day.

On the second day of Christmas, I wish my true love gave to me...

2 Whoopie Pies (and a Pot Pie from Cornish Pasty)

So far the only restaurant in town we've found these delectable treats at is District American Kitchen and Wine Bar at the Sheraton in Phoenix. Theirs are mighty tasty. But if you're looking to make whoopie(s) in bulk, Stonewall Kitchen has a holiday version with creamy vanilla filling and crushed peppermint candy canes. We spotted these at La Grande Orange Grocery in Phoenix. Follow the simple instructions, mix together some ingredients and enjoy a pie with your sweetie pie.

On the third day of Christmas, I wish my true love gave to me...

3 Sasquatch Burgers (2 Whoopie Pies and a pot pie from Cornish Pasty)

Chef Aaron May's Sasquatch burger has become infamous in the Phoenix culinary scene. We're just waiting for Adam Richman of Food Network's Man vs. Food to pay a visit to The Lodge in Scottsdale for one of these bad boys.

Before he does, and the place fills up with tourists and crazed Food Network fans, get yourself down to The Lodge and try one. Or three. The bonus? With the calories you'll pack on from eating a few of these burgers, you could hibernate all winter and live off your fat.

On the fourth day of Christmas, I wish my true love gave to me...

4 Holiday Souffles (3 Whoopie Pies, 2 Sasquatch Burgers and a Pot Pie from Cornish Pasty)
