Tickets Are on Sale Now for the 2016 Arizona Farmer+Chef Connection in Tucson

Mark your calendars, local food lovers. The seventh annual Arizona Farmer+Chef Connection – kind of like a giant meet-and-greet for local food producers and wholesale food buyers – will return on Monday, September 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center, located at 260 South Church Avenue in Tucson.

Presented by the Local First Arizona Foundation as a part of its Healthy Local Foods Initiative, the 2016 Farmer+Chef will bring back the Suppliers’ Marketplace, a vendor fair of Arizona food producers and distributors to connect with wholesale food buyers from restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, hospitals, and more.

According to the press release, executive director of Local First Arizona and the Local First Arizona Foundation Kimber Lanning explains, “Normally, this event rotates to different host sites across the state, but in light of Tucson being named North America’s first UNESCO City of Gastronomy, we thought it was appropriate to bring the Farmer+Chef Connection back to Tucson this year.”

Early bird tickets for the 2016 Arizona Farmer+Chef Connection are on sale now until July 31 for $10, after which general admission for food buyers and public attendees increases to $20. Admission includes access to the Suppliers Marketplace and the Local Food Reception, which will be hosted by Bite magazine and include Arizona-made food, beer, spirits, and wine.

For food producers, early-bird vendor packages are also on sale for $80 until July 31, after which vendors may purchase regular-priced packages for $100 until August 26. August 29 is last day to apply for a Pima County Health Permit.
