Why spend countless hours and tens of thousands of dollars on professional couples counseling when you can just fix your relationship with a $15 pork loin, saffron-infused rice and an asparagus medley?
Of course, if it really worked that way, 90% of marriage therapists would go out of business, America's obesity problem would quadruple and the divorce rate would shrink faster than bacon on a hot griddle.
Casting is currently underway for a new cooking show called The Relation Chef, in which Culinary Institute of America and U of A grad Dan Moody will help couples strengthen their relationships through the "intimacy" of cooking. The show will be taped at Scottsdale's Illuma Studios.
Moody's a regular in the local culinary scene, and has taught classes at Sur La Table, 7122 E. Greenway Pkwy in Scottsdale. We're happy to support any program that features local stars and is taped in the Phoenix metro (except maybe the embarassment that was Arpaio's ill-conceived Smile, You're Under Arrest), but you have to wonder how bad a couple's relationship was in the first place if it can be fixed with a few cooking lessons.

Personally, we'll stick to our tried-and-true recipe for relationship success, which involves two highball glasses, a swizzle stick and a pitcher of sangria. Ahhh....we can taste the love already.
