In 2011, when I wrote about the Valley's year in food trucks, Brad Moore, founder and president of the Phoenix Street Food Coalition and owner of the gourmet mobile hotdog eatery Short Leash Hotdogs (which he owns with wife Kat), told me the popularity of food trucks in Phoenix has made for good discussions with cities which traditionally have not allowed the mobile kitchens but are now willing to take a second look.
Looks like Moore's idea of creating a food truck scene outside of the Downtown area is about to happen in Scottsdale this weekend, along with North Phoenix.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., this Saturday, January 28, two groups of Valley food trucks will gather in two Sam's Club parking lots: 15th Avenue and Bell Road in North Phoenix and the Loop 101 and Raintree Drive in Scottsdale. Operating less like a festival (THANK YOU) and more like Downtown's Food Truck Friday, there is no admission and no vouchers -- just walk up to your favorite truck and pay for what you order.
Read on for a list of the trucks at each location.
