Before the Hells Angels came to roost in Arizona, the Dirty Dozen dominated all other motorcycle clubs in the Grand Canyon State. A ruthless band of brigands, rogues and killers, they were led in Tucson by Robert "Chico" Mora, the most feared biker west of the Mississippi. As told in this week's cover story "Road Warrior," Mora pushed the Dozen to "patch over" and become Hells Angels, which officially took place in 1997, wedding the Angels and Arizona for all time. Mora died January 1, 2014 at the age of 58 due to complications from diabetes. For good or ill, he made Arizona's bike scene what it is today.
