Artists and other guests gathered Tuesday, October 25, for the soft opening of the Found:RE Hotel, an adaptive reuse project that revived the building where the Lexington Hotel shuttered in April 2012. The hotel, which is a joint Habitat Metro and Bond Partners project, sits in the heart of the downtown arts district — at Central Avenue and Portland Street. Its unique focus includes supporting local artists by displaying their works. So far the hotel boasts paintings, sculptures, photographs, and other works of art by more than two dozen artists. Here's a look at some of the art and artists of Found:RE, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse at everything from guest rooms to gallery spaces. All photos by Lynn Trimble.
