Taco Haus Tuesday, January 21

Chef Payton Curry already has proved his ability to please the Scottsdale masses with housemade sausages and other German fare with Brat Haus, the Old Town brewhouse and eatery. Next week, he'll take things down south when he opens Taco Haus, his newest collaboration with restaurateur and co-owner Dave Andrea. The restaurant, located at 7318 East Shea Boulevard, will offer Latin inspired cuisine including tacos, ceviche, whole rotisserie chickens, and tableside margaritas. Pie Perfection! at The Simple Farm Thursday, January 23

Sure, she's already shared a few of her tips for making the best pie ever. But if you're a more hands-on learner, then you can head to The Simple Farm this Thursday, when Chow Bella contributor and local pastry chef Rachel Miller will be teaching a pie-making class. The 90-minute workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. and attendees will learn "ins and outs of pie crust and some handy tips to help take your pies to the next level." Bring a pie plate and be ready to roll some dough. The class costs $20. You can register at The Simple Farm website.
