Spotted Donkey Cantina Tuesday, September 9

Tomorrow Spotted Donkey Cantina at el Pedregal in North Scottsdale will host a tequila dinner event featuring Tequila Chamucos. The five course dinner will start with appetizers including la canasta chips and salsas; cheese chicken quesadillas; and salmon ceviche with cantina shooters, orange capers ,and roasted green chili. Executive chef Esteban Colon will prepare the meal, while bartender Troy Pudney will make two cocktails and provide individual Tequila Chamucos tastings. The dinner costs $60 a person and starts at 6:30 p.m. For a reservation call 480-488-3358.

The Farm Kitchen Tuesday, September 9

This Tuesday marks the re-opening of The Farm Kitchen at The Farm at South Mountain. The restaurant serves sandwiches, salads and baked goods seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In celebration of the farm's reopening, you can get a free cookie during the month of September by liking The Farm at South Mountain's Facebook page and entering your information.

The Market by Jennifer's Thursday, September 11

The Market by Jennifer's in Phoenix will be honoring local first responders on Thursday by offering a free meal to any member of metro Phoenix's Police or Fire Departments or EMTs in uniform and/or with identification."This is just our way small way of saying thank you to all of the hardworking police officers, EMTs and firemen and women that put their lives at risk for others on a daily basis," says Jennifer Russo, owner of The Market by Jennifer's. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Best of Italy Friday, September 12

This Friday head to the the Courtyard Marriott Salt River in Scottsdale for a celebration of Italian food and drink. The event will feature five of the Valley's top Italian chefs and five top Italian wineries. Featured chefs include Andrea Volpi of Local/Central Bistro, Chris Nocosia of Sassi, Gio Osso of Virtu, Marcellino Verzino of Marcellino Ristorante, and Massimo Della Francesca of Taggia at Fire Sky Resort. Wine will be provided by the following wineries: Inama, Aia Vecchia, Marchesi di Gresy, Selvapiana, and La Valentina. The event starts at 6 p.m. and costs $75 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased online.

Bobby-Q

Bourbon lovers, listen up. Bobby Q in Phoenix is now offering premium bourbon tasting flights that you can build yourself. The selection of bourbons includes Bobby-Q's own hand-selected "Barrel 13" bourbon by Buffalo Trace, as well as W.L. Weller Special Reserve, Eagle Rare Single Barrel 10 Year, Templeton Rye, and Blanton's Single Barrel. Diners and drinker can choose any three bourbons to try for $10. When aired with a plate of the restaurant's nationally-recognized barbecue this sounds like quite a good investment.
