Dishcrawl: Old Town Scottsdale Tuesday, March 18
This Tuesday, Dishcrawl will lead a walking tour of three of Old Town Scottsdale's dining and drinking destinations. And as much as we'd love to tell you where the tour will be going, the surprise is part of the fun. Starting at 7 p.m. attendees will hit one of Old Town's well-known watering holes, a new spot for food and drink, and finish with a sweet ending. Cowboy Ciao Wednesday, March 19
This Wednesday, Cowboy Ciao's mixologist, Alexa Bowler, will debut a new spring cocktail menu that features her homemade snow pea infused vodka you might have tasted at Arizona Cocktail Week. The menu includes drinks such as the Hop, Skip, and a Jump ($13) with Anchor Distilling Hophead vodka, green chartreuse, Luxardo maraschino, and lime, and the Peas and Thank You ($9) with snow pea-infused vodka, lime, honey syrup, and Fee Bros rhubarb bitters.
Talavera Friday, March 21
The Taste Talavera wine dinner series kicks off this Friday when chef Mel Mecinas teams up with Kistler Winery for a four-course wine paired tasting menu. Kistler winery, located in California, specializes in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir produced using old world Burgundian techniques. The dinner will begin with a course featuring scallops, oysters, and caviar, paired with Noisetiers Chardonnay, while the main course will be a choice of coffee rubbed ostrich loin or a poached main lobster paired with Kistler's signature Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The Herb Box
St. Patrick's Day doesn't have to end after today because The Herb Box at DC Ranch and Southbridge will be serving Irish specials from 3 to 6 p.m. now through Saturday, March 22. The menu items include Irish Sliders with capicola ham, swiss, sauerkraut, pepperoncini, and caraway-honey mustard available for $3 each of four for $11. And Potato Leek Soup with Irish cheddar and frizzled leeks. The specials also include $3.50 pints of Guinness, of course.
Hana Japanese Eatery
Last week, we kicked off our March Madness Ultimate Battle of the Ramen with a throw down between Hana Japanese Eatery and Clever Koi. In the first match, during round one, Hana came out ahead thanks to well-balanced shoyu broth and perfectly roasted pork. Of course ,that's just the first of a series of match-ups we'll be sharing over the next few weeks while our tournament style battles goes on.
