Beer Dinner: Huss Brewing Company Saturday, August 2
We're pretty excited that well-known Valley chef Matt Taylor has relocated to the kitchen at Gertrude's at the Desert Botanical Garden. And if you're looking for a good excuse to go check out what the chef has up his sleeve, then this Saturday's event might be just that reason. The restaurant's craft beer dinner will feature three courses and an amuse bouche paired with beers from Huss Brewing Company in Tempe. The menu includes a Kushi oyster with Spanish chorizo mignonette, bowfin caviar, and rye crumble and curried goat with dirty rice, pickled watermelon, and fresno chili vinegar. "Back to the Future" Lunch & Learn Saturday, August 2
The second installment of this year's Lunch & Learn series at the Sanctuary Resort and Spa will take place this Saturday. This week's event features award-winning mixologist Jason Asher who will speak about the history of the Arizona cocktail movement. The event's three-course lunch includes an heirloom tomato mosaic with buffalo mozzarella, Thai basil, and red pepper sorbet and Kahula pork belly with caramelized pineapple, sesame, crispy taro, and ponzu. Arizona Centennial Cookbook Summer Cooking Demo Series Saturday, August 2
Throughout this summer Williams-Sonoma inside the Biltmore Fashion Park is hosting a series of cooking demonstrations by chefs featured in the 100 Years, 100 Chefs, 100 Recipes cookbook. The book, released in 2012, celebrates Arizona's centennial with recipes gathered from chefs across the state. This Saturday you can catch chef Aurore de Beauduy of Vogue Bistro in Surprise as she demonstrates how to prepare her dish features in the book, Duet of Lambs with Vegetable Torte. The free demonstration begins at 11 a.m. Copies of 100 Years, 100 Chefs, 100 Recipes will be available at the event.
All-You-Can-Eat Pigs Head Party Sunday, August 3
Though Bink's Midtown has been hosting Pig on the Patio parties for months, this weekend will be the restaurant's first All-You-Can-Eat Pigs Head Party. The event will showcase meat strictly from the animals head including cheeks, snout, and even eyeballs. The menu includes Slow-Roasted Local Pig Heads with accompaniments such as corn on the cob with chipotle lime butter, marinated cucumbers, and drunken ranch beans. Drink specials will include $2 brown bag beers. The party runs from noon to 4 p.m. and costs $24.95 a person.

Cafe Community Night Sunday, August 3
Chef Aaron Chamberlin's Phoenix Public Market Cafe has launched a new weekly event meant to bring the community together over good, fresh, and affordable food. Cafe Comminity Night, which will be available on Sunday and Monday nights from 5 p.m. to close, will allow diners to enjoy a salad, entree option, and dessert for $9.99 a person. Dishes will be served to share and entree options will include pasta pomodoro, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken or roasted cauliflower.
