Bloomin' Beer Fest
Saturday, June 14
It's been nearly a decade since Irish author James Joyce wrote the novel that would eventually become a classic of modern literature, Ulysses. This Saturday Joyce fans around the world will celebrate Bloomsday, named for the book's protagonist, Leopold Bloom. At the Irish Cultural Center in Phoenix the festivities will include beer-tastings, wine, spirits, and food as well as readings from the novel and live Irish music by The Brazen Heads. Tickets, which cost $25 in advance or $35 at the door, include 16 tokens that can be used for beer or food. Doors open at 7 p.m. For more information visit the Irish Cultural Center website.
