You know what's even better than a new summer festival in Phoenix? A new indoor beer festival in the summer in Phoenix -- and that's exactly what we'll get this Saturday at the first Scottsdale Beer Palooza at WestWorld of Scottsdale. The new indoor event will include more than 30 breweries, live music, and food from local food trucks. One of the biggest draws is expected to be the The Beer Store, where festival attendees will be able to pick up bottles, cans, and growlers of beers featured at the event -- plan ahead and you can use this opportunity to stock up for the 4th of July weekend. "Saturday on the Rocks" Saturday, June 28
This weekend The Market by Jennifer's will be showing off their newly installed bar and kicking off a new cocktail education series called Saturday on the Rocks. The first installment of the event will highlight Tito's handmade vodka, produced in Austin, Texas. The gluten-free spirit will be paired with gluten-free appetizers including Iberico Pancetta Wrapped Chicken, Curried Salmon Brochette, Ratatouille Wrapped Crows Dairy Feta and more. Attendees will get to try four different Tito's cocktails, each of which will be paired with an appetizer. The event costs $20 a person and begins at 4 p.m.
Pilfer the Pantry Saturday, June 28
If you want to say one last good-bye to Cork before itcloses to be turned into a new restaurant, Ernest, then you'd better get a move on. This Friday and Saturday the restaurant will be offering a special Pilfer the Pantry menu, meaning chef Brian Peterson will create a spontaneous 5-course meal using whatever's left in the kitchen before the restaurant shuts down. Food Truck Caravan First Anniversary Saturday, June 28
Can you believe it's already been a year since the Food Truck Caravan launched in Old Town Scottsdale? This Saturday you can help celebrate the event's one year anniversary with a "Tuscan Night"-themed event during which participating trucks will create special Italian and Mediterranean dishes. Attendees will also be able to participate in cheese and pizza making demonstrations and enter a raffle. Scheduled trucks include Burgers Amore, Queso Good, Frank's, Grilled Addiction, The Great Pho King, Sweet Magnolia, Grilled Cheese Truck, Focoso Pizza Food Truck, Menime's Wacky Waffle Truck and Frosted Frenzy. Nothing says summer like barbecue on the grill but rather than dealing with the heat yourself, why not just leave it to the professionals. Starting this weekend and running through the rest of the summer, Lon's at the Hermosa Inn will host a weekly Sunday Chuckwagon BBQ that will include a three-course BBQ menu with specials on a variety of locally brewed Arizona beers.
