Urban Ale Trail Saturday, September 20
This Saturday beer lovers will descend on downtown Phoenix's watering holes to participate in the inaugural Urban Ale Trail. The self-guided tour will guide drinkers to a number of downtown, midtown, and uptown restaurants and bars where they'll find beer samples priced between $2 and $3, as well as snacks to pair with the selection of brews. Some of the participating establishments include First Draft Book Bar, Central Wine, Angels Trumpet Ale House, and The Crescent Ballroom. Garlic Festival Saturday, September 20
Earlier this year the Queen Creek Olive Mill planted its first harvest of garlic and now it's time to celebrate the yield. On Saturday and Sunday you can head to the mill for a day of food, drink, and entertainment including live music from Johnny Tanner and His Aces and the Hoodoo Casters. The festival will also include garlic vendor tastings, complimentary wine tastings, a garlic recipe contest, and garlic sold by the pound. Football, Burgers, and Brews Sunday, September 21
If you're looking for a hot dining deal to go with your Sunday football game, head to Del Frisco's Grille for the new Burgers & Brews deal. For $17.50 the restaurant is offering a craft beer, double patty burger, and your choice of crispy frites. The combo features Del Frisco's Grille's Prime Cheeseburger, which includes two patties made of a blend of USDA Prime short rib, brisket, and chuck topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and sloppy sauce. Diners will also get to choose between Original, Sea Salt and Parmesan, or Sweet Potato Frites. The Burgers & Brews deal will run from now until February 2, 2015.
Mixology Class with Travis Nass Sunday, September 21
For a boozy way to spend your Sunday, try the Mixology Class at the Last Drop Bar at the Hermosa Inn. Spirit Guide and local barman extraordinaire Travis Nass will lead attendees on a class featuring a specific liquor. He'll cover topics including the history of the spirit, styles of liquor, various brands, and even recipes. Guests will also get a taste of two different cocktails and plenty of time for Q&A. The class, which costs $30 a person, begins promptly at 2 p.m. and is limited to 10 people. To reserve spot call 602 955-7878.
