Roosevelt Row Chile Pepper Festival Saturday, September 27
Head to the A.R.T.S. Market in downtown Phoenix this Saturday night to be a part of the third annual Roosevelt Row Chile Pepper Festival. The event will feature chile-infused dishes from 20 teams of local chefs and restauranteurs, all of whom will be competing for the title of Best Chile Pepper Dish. And when your mouth needs a break from the heat just hit the beer garden or snag a margarita from 3 Amigos Tequila. Admission to the festival is free and food and drink tickets/tokens will be available for purchase individually and in bundles. Food tickets (good for food samples from participating restaurants) will cost $2 each or 12 for $20. Drink tokens will cost $5 each or 5 for $20. Scottsdale Spice Culinary Event Saturday, September 27
If one pepper-y event isn't enough to satisfy your need for heat, here's another to try on for size. This Saturday will also see the first Scottsdale Spice Culinary Event, held at the Venue Scottsdale. The spicy event will feature 20 local restaurants, each of which will present a dish in one or more heat levels: mild, medium and hot. Festival-goers will be able to vote for their favorite dishes in categories such as Best Booth Décor, Spiciest Dish, Best Dessert, Most Authentically Arizonan and more. Tickets to the event, which runs from 6 to 10 p.m., cost $50 and can be purchased online.
Biketoberfest Saturday, September 27
Wait, is it October already? Nope, but that hasn't stopped The Handlebar Tempe from launching their Oktoberfest event this weekend. The bar is celebrating its first ever Biktoberfest this Saturday with drinks, bikes, and food. The free event includes beer tents serving seasonal brews such as Bell's Oktoberfest, Odell Oktoberfest, Four Peaks Oktoberfest, Krombacher (3 styles), Stiegl and Stiegl Radler, Zunft Kolsch, Leffe Blonde, Hoegaarden, Veltins Pilsner, Maisel's Weisse Dunkel, and more. bRUNch at the House Brasserie Sunday, September 28
Fans of exercise and eating can unite their two passions this weekend with bRUNch Running, a weekly event held at restaurants around the Valley. This Sunday the group will be meeting at The House Brasserie before heading out for either a 5K or 10K run. Afterwards everyone will meet back up at the restaurant for food and drinks. The run leaves the restaurant at 9:30 and costs $25 for the run, a brunch entree, and one drink. Registration is available online; space is limited.
The Fillmore Vig's 1 Year Anniversary Party Sunday, September 28
This Sunday The Fillmore Vig is hosting a birthday bash -- not only is it the restaurant and bar's 1 year anniversary, it's also the 100th birthday of the downtown Phoenix building the restaurant calls home. In honor of the occasion, The Vig will be offering half off all appetizers and all drinks. Other specials include $4 Tito's make-your-own Bloody Mary bar and $15 bottomless mimosas. Entertainment will include three DJs and the Cardinals game on the television, of course.
