Support the independent voice of Phoenix and help keep the future of New Times free.
With another year officially over and gone, it means another opportunity to appreciate how many changes we didn't make to our eating habits in 2013. Last January, we swore we were going to work out more and eat better. But we'll be honest: That kick lasted all of about five days.
This year, we're really going to do it, though. And if you're in the healthier-living boat, too, here are six gluten-free, allergen-free and vegan recipes from food blogger Bubble Girl Bakes to help.

Kait Turshen, who blogs under the moniker Bubble Girl, shares her own gluten-free, allergen-free, vegan recipes on her blog. To start the New Year, she shared some of her favorite recipes:
- homemade bubble bars (an allergy friendly version of Larabars)
- cranberry pumpkin muffins
- sweet potato pie smoothie
- stuffed red peppers
- ratatouille
- roasted butternut squash soup
And don't forget to check out our list of upcoming gardening and cooking classes in metro Phoenix. The list includes an edible gardening class at the Southwest Gardener and a tomato-growing workshop at The Simple Farm.

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
