Grab a gourmet snack and a comfy seat on the couch because the fall tv season is just around the corner. And while we can watch re-runs of Good Eats and No Reservations until the cows come home, we're pretty excited for some new fodder on which we can feast our eyes. In addition to new seasons of some of our favorite food-related television shows, there are a few new series out this season that have piqued our interest already. Craft beer fans, there's something for you and if you thought you were sick of Gordon Ramsay, wait till you see what he's got up his sleeve next.

Mind of a Chef, Season Two Premiers Thursday, September 19 at 5 p.m. on PBS Arizona 8

Last year this series, hosted by Anthony Bourdain, won a James Beard award for best Television Program on Location. The travel/cooking show combines history, science and humor to show viewers what it's really like inside the mind of a culinary magician. Last season the show followed the infamous Momofuku chef David Chang, but this time they're tackling two culinary minds: Sean Brock, Executive Chef and Partner of McCrady's and Husk Restaurant in Charleston, SC and April Bloomfield, Executive Chef and Co- Owner of a slew of New York City restaurants: The Spotted Pig, The Breslin Bar & Dining Room, The John Dory Oyster Bar and Salvation Taco. The first half of the season, episodes 1-8, will focus on Brock, while episodes 9-16 will feature Bloomfield.
Donut Showdown New episodes Wednesday night at 9 p.m. on the Cooking Channel
You might have already caught an episode or two of this new series, which premiered on the Cooking Channel in July. If nothing else, let's all revel in the fact that this might be the beginning of the end of the Cupcake Era; perhaps the doughnut really will rise to the top of the pastry pyramid of power. In Donut Showdown, three doughnut makers from across the country go head-to-head in a race to beat the clock to create the best deep-fried creation with a surprise selection of ingredients. Sound familiar? It's like Chopped and Cupcake Wars had a baby. The winner walks away with $10,000.
Parts Unknown, Season Two Premiers Sunday, September 15 at 9 p.m. on CNN
If you didn't watch the first season of Anthony Bourdain's new show, you missed out. Fans of No Reservations will find plenty to love, except that now Bourdain has the backing to do more, to explore even more dangerous and interesting places. Last season he made trips to LIbya and Congo and this season he has quite a few jewels on the itinerary. He'll kick off the season by heading to Jerusalem, then hitting Spain, New Mexico and Copenhagen. If this show doesn't inspire you to eat your way around the world, nothing will.
Brew Dogs Premiers Tuesday, September 24 on Esquire Network (check your provider for availability and time)
It's about time craft beer lovers got their own show -- or at least another show since Discovery Channel cancelled Brew Masters, the show that followed Dogfish Head Brewery founded Sam Calagione. Hopefully this one will outlast that one-season series. Brew Dogs will follow James Watt and Martin Dickie owners of Scottish craft brewery BrewDog UK. The duo will be travelling across America checking out different town's craft brew offerings and making their own locally-inspired beers along the way.
The Getaway Premiers Wednesday, September 25 at 9 p.m. on Esquire Network (check your provider for availability)
And NBC's new guy-centric network didn't forget about the food-lovers either. They tapped the talents of Anthony Bourdain (naturally) to help create their own travel-food show, The Getaway. It will be a The Layover-inspired show except that instead of having Bourdain lead viewers around a city, we can look forward to such hosts as Joe McHale from The Soup, Aziz Ansari or Parks and Recreation and Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live. Destinations include London, New York City, Hong Kong and Kingston, Jamaica.
MasterChef Junior Premiers Friday, September 27 at 8 p.m. on FOX
Season 7 of Bizarre Foods America just wrapped up on September 2 when chef and host Andrew Zimmern hit up Houston for a tailgate and some goat. Now the details are pretty foggy about whether or not the show will continue to be Bizarre Food America as opposed to just Bizarre Foods but Eater reports that Zimmern has said the network will start airing 16 new episodes of Bizarre Something-or-Other later this fall. Since some of the destination this time around are abroad, we're guessing this season will be leaving behind the Bizarre Foods America title.
