What We Bought: The brand-spankin'-new Arcadia Farmers Market is just warming up. Without letting the hot weather scare them off and with plenty of shade from tented tables, about 20 vendors were set up this past Sunday. We were instantly drawn to the pretty purple egg cartons housing Horny Toad Farms' eggs ($6 per dozen). With eggs in hand, we spotted Herlocher's Dipping Mustard ($5). The sweet, almost honey mustard style flavor and smooth consistency would make the perfect deviled egg with our farm fresh little friends.

Next we grabbed Baker Thirteen's chocolate-dipped peanut butter balls called buckeyes (three for $3). Since the sun began to melt the buckeyes on display, the little boxes of three buckeyes were kept on ice until they found a good home. Feeling a little melty ourselves, we decided a refreshing agave mint lemonade ($3) from Terra Java was the next logical step.

What We Skipped: There was too much far junk food and jewelry at this week's farmers market in Arcadia, not nearly enough, well, farmers. In fact, there were two jewelry stands while the only vendor selling local produce was Horny Toad Farms. While we love a good snow cone, we go to a farmers market for fresh, locally made/grown goods--not syrup on ice.

What We're Still Lusting Over: While we would have loved to indulge in Paradise Melts' grilled cheese with a fried egg, bacon and Canadian bacon ($8), the gluten, dairy and meat filled sandwich seemed a little too heavy in the over 90 degree temps. However, we made a mental note of Morris Land and Cattle's BBQ Ribs at $8.50 per pound for future nights poolside by the grill.

Our final find that we sadly left behind was Floral Apothecary's body scrub. Handcrafted, all natural scrubs can be pricey, sometimes over $70, but these botanical beauties were only $15. Now that the weather is forcing us to show our gams more and more, exfoliation might just be a necessity next time we drop by the Arcadia Farmers Market.
